Aecademy Post Mortem
Below are my notes on what I could have done better at Aethelmearc Aecademy. Hopefully others can learn from some
of my mistakes.
- Contract price changed after bid by over $100. I should have adjusted the pricing structure at that time to accommodate additional cost.
- Maps were outsourced. Had I known how easy they could have been done in power point I could have done them locally.
- Chairs in the dressing room.
- Feast site was not air-conditioned.
- Many people asked for menu at troll.
- Had children's room but no activities. I should have contacted out of group chancellor minors about planning activities even if we had no local resources.
- Page school room was un-safe for children.
- We have way few people in our shire to pull off an event this size. We need to recruit heavily and encourage service in those who join.
- No one read the troll instructions that were written.
- Communication between sites fell through. Need to consider how to handle next time.
- Have someone from kitchen staff hang around during clean up as 'advisor' to the clean up crew. This will make sure items will be put away properly and that personal items will not be left behind.
