Weaving 2002

Here are the pieces I've done in 2002.

This piece is done using 60/2 silk thread. It uses 18 cards for a width of 1/4 inch. I've completed 2 feet so far out of a total of 8 yards on the loom. The pattern is my own design and is an attempt at celtic style knotwork. The pattern for it can be found here at the Loomy Bin. You will need to download Gudrun's software to view it. This piece is done using 60/2 silk thread. It uses 31 cards for a width of 1/2 inch. This is my first attempt at brocading with metallic threads. The Kreinek cord and cables didn't get the fill or look I wanted. The Kreinik Japan #7 get a nice look and fill when doubled up. I have also discovered that it looks better if the two brocade threads are taken through separately as opposed to doubled on the same shuttle. Photo is courtesy of Lois Swales.
